The Fourth Phase of Water: How Structured Water Amplifies Biofields
If you open a biology textbook, you will learn that water exists in three phases: solid (ice), liquid (fluid), and gas (vapor).
But if that were the whole story, you wouldn’t be alive.
The water inside your cells behaves nothing like the water in a glass. It doesn’t slosh around; it is organized, gel-like, and electrically charged. This is the Fourth Phase of Water, also known as Exclusion Zone (EZ) Water.
Understanding this “living water” is the final key to understanding how biofield technology interacts with the human body. We aren’t just influencing “energy”; we are structuring the very liquid that makes up 99% of your molecules.
What is EZ Water?
Discovered and popularized by bioengineer Dr. Gerald Pollack, EZ water forms when water meets a hydrophilic (water-loving) surface like the proteins inside your cells.
Unlike chaotic liquid water (H2O), EZ water rearranges itself into a hexagonal honeycomb lattice (H3O2).
This structure does two miraculous things:
- It Excludes Toxins: The lattice is so tight that it pushes out solutes, salt, and toxins (hence the name “Exclusion Zone”).
- It Creates a Battery: The EZ layer holds a negative charge, while the bulk water next to it holds a positive charge. This separation of charge creates a voltage potential; literally a battery powering cellular work.

The Connection: Biofields Build Structure
So, what fuels the creation of this structured water? Radiant Energy.
Dr. Pollack’s research showed that Infrared Light dramatically expands the Exclusion Zone. When light hits the water, the battery charges up.
This is the scientific bridge for Energy Medicine.
Biofield technologies (such as plasma devices, PEMF, or photobiomodulation) emit specific frequencies of light and magnetism. When these fields interact with the water in your body, they act as a structuring agent.
They encourage the random, chaotic water molecules to align into that coherent, hexagonal lattice.

Why “Hydration” is Misunderstood
We are often told to “drink 8 glasses of water a day.” But volume does not equal hydration. You can drink gallons of water and still be dehydrated intracellularly if your cells cannot convert that bulk water into EZ water.
When we age, or when our biofield becomes incoherent (due to stress or entropy), our EZ layers diminish. The “battery” runs low. This leads to:
- Stiff joints (loss of lubrication).
- Slow recovery.
- “Leaky” cell membranes.
Enhancing Your Cellular Battery
To maximize the “Fourth Phase” in your body, combine hydration with energy:
- Eat Your Water: Fruits and vegetables (like cucumber, melon, and aloe) contain water that is already structured by nature.
- Light & Heat: Sauna therapy and safe sun exposure provide the infrared energy needed to expand your EZ layers.
- Coherent Fields: Using biofield devices is essentially “charging” your internal water. It provides the energetic template that allows water molecules to snap back into their healthy, crystalline order.

Water is the hardware; energy is the software. But Structured Water is the operating system that allows them to talk to each other.
By focusing on the quality and structure of your internal water -not just the quantity- you amplify the effects of every other wellness practice you do.
Remember: You are not just a bag of water. You are a liquid crystal.
